Our Evening in Newport Beach!

This was the first beach trip we made since our Hawaii excursion back in 2009! And while the weather was a bit overcast, the waves were inviting and the water was refreshing. First, Ben took mija up to the shorefront and both daddy and daughter felt the sesation of the sand between their toes and the water carressing their skin. After the initial shock of the cold water when it first met with her skin, little water baby wanted to experience more. That's when mommy and daughter got down to their bathing suits. The waves came and went and munchkin was drawn and hypnotized by their coming and going. She giggled with delight as the current dragged her down into the sand! The cutest part was when mija kept saying 'Uno mas' (one more) after each wave retreated back into the ocean...she could not get enough! Before leaving the beach, cutie ate a dinner of Sunchips, grapes and yogurt and washed her food down with milk. Until we meet again, California Coast...

To potty train, or not to potty train?

So I am getting a lot of different information about when to start potty training and how not to pressure the child; essentially how they (one's child) will show us when they are ready to start using the potty. Meybe we got a sign today since mija sat on her own potty three times and said 'Pipi'...quite possibly!

We went to Kiddie Kandids to take Vivian's professional 2 year photographs! Vivian started to cry the moment the photographer started taking photos, so the professional tried everything from tickling us with the feather duster, to hiding the teddy bears to singing silly songs and by the end of the shoot we had all made complete fools of ourselves (Ben, Lenore and me) to get our little munchkin to crack a smile and laugh...Judging by the smiles in the photos, I think our antics worked!

Our families took Ben to the Cheesecake Factory restaurant to celebrate his recent accomplishment of becoming a full-fledged PGA Golf Professional! We had a yummy dinner and everyone got dessert :) Congratulations, Benny!!!

After the graduation party, Vivian and mommy went to visit daddy at work because we missed him so much! This was just days before he became a fully certified PGA Golf Professional. The week of June 29, 2010 Ben traveled to Florida to finish Level 3 of the PGA exams, presentation and portfolio and passed all of these with flying colors! He has been at his place of employment for about 8 years now, however, he is now looking at many open doors and opportunites with his new status as PGA Golf Professional.
