Vivian loves watermelon!

Friday, November 27, 2009

Vivian loves to eat fruit. Some of her favorites include banana, grapes, apples and especially watermelon. Here she is chomping away on a slice of baby watermelon; she couldn't seem to get enough of the juicy fruit!

Thanksgiving 2009

Thursday, November 26, 2009
We were blessed to spend Thanksgiving once again with Lenore and both sides of the family. The past three years we have created a family tradition of spending the holiday together and of each person contributing to the Thanksgiving meal. William (Ben's brother) made the turkey, Lenore made the pumpkin pies, my parents made the appetizers of guacamole dip and homemade taquitos, Lisa made the brussel sprots and green beans, Allison prepared the stuffing and scalloped potatoes, Dave made the croissants, Liz created the butternut squash side and we brought the broccolli chesse mashed potatoes as well as the traditional mashed potatoes. Needless to say, there was enought food to feed 10 families!

The Turkey Trot 2009

Thursday, November 26, 2009
The morning of Thanksgiving I participated in a 5K run sponsored by the Rotary organization. The cause: to run your butt off before stuffing your face with turkey! I ran my best time ever (despite having had little to no traning) as my final time was 31:33 which comes out to about a 10 minute mile pace. Wahoo!
The best part of all was seeing Benny and Vivian at the finish line. Maybe next year Vivian will want to run the race with me? We'll see...but for now, here are a couple of shots from the race and of La Vivi trotting along!

The UCLA Game; Go Bruins!

Tuesday, November 10, 2009
We went to see the UCLA basketball game against Humbolt. We met up with Ben's dad and father & son got a chance to catch up on some male bonding time. Susy, on the other hand, walked around the stadium a few times and took charge of the snack duty. Clearly you could see who the winners were for the night!

My favorite hiding place...

Saturday, November 7, 2009

Here's Vivian at the donut shop hiding underneath her favorite spot; the highchair. Lately she has made it a game to hide under the chair while she plays with the chair's seatbelt and watches the world go by "outside" her little hiding spot.

What a girly-girl!

Tuesday, November 3, 2009
Vivian likes purses; in particular she likes mommy's purses. She will carry them around as if they belong to her, and on top of that, she will empty the entire content of my purse little-by-little. Before I know it, she has tested my lipstick and make-up, read through my receipts, mis-placed my keys and dis-assembled my pens. Now that she can reach on top of the table, she has no problem pulling my purse down for a typical inspection. Let's just say that this little girl is turning into quite the girly-girl :)

Vivian can use a straw!

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Whereas before Vivian would have to drink out of a bottle or sippy cup, now she can actually drink out of a straw. I made a strawberry banana smoothie with yogurt and milk, and within seconds she was slurping the delicious conconction with a straw! Yummy :)

Halloween 2009

Saturday, October 31, 2009

This was the first Halloween that we celebrated together as a family. First we went to a church festival with Vivian's cousins aunts and uncles, then we went trick-or-treating for the first time! Vivian dressed up as a cute pink poodle and her cousins were a pink cowgirl and a scary skeleton. Vivian would not let go of the Elmo candy holder for anything! She did not want any help with holding her candies. Instead, she settled for a ride in ther cousin's red wagon at the end of the night. All of the cousin's looked so adorable in their Halloween costumes.

At the pumpkin patch!

Saturday, October 24, 2009

At the pumpkin patch there were animals, a couple of bounce houses and lots of pumpkins! Vivian enjoyed watching the baby chicks and looking at the pumpkins. Daddy did not let mommy go in the bounce house because he said that they were for the little kids. Boo! Anyhow, we took some fun photos and ended up buying a medium sized pumpkin and three small ones. Here we are with our pumpkins.
